EBola outbreak- 1976
The Ebola outbreak in 1976 was due to Ebola Zaire. It began in the Republic of the Congo, formerly Zaire. Meanwhile, Ebola Sudan began to emerge in southern Sudan and England at the same. Ebola Zaire infected 318 and killed 280, giving that particular outbreak an 88% fatality rate. Ebola Sudan infected 285 and killed 151, giving it a 51% fatality rate.
Ebola Outbreak- 1995-1996
In 1995, Ebola Zaire infected people in the Republic of the Congo yet again. It infected 315 people and killed 250, killing 81% of the those who caught it. In 1996, Ebola Zaire broke out in Gabon, Russia, and South Africa; 100 people were infected and 68 died, giving this outbreak a 68% fatality rate. At the same time, a new strain of Ebola appeared, however, it did not affect humans. It only affected monkey populations and supposedly was spread through the air. It occurred in the Phillippines and the United States; No humans died during this outbreak.
Ebola outbreak- 2000-2007
In 2000, Ebola Sudan emerged in Uganda. It infected 425 people and killed 224; 53% of those infected died. In 2001-2002, Ebola Zaire emerged in Gabon and the Republic of the Congo. This outbreak infected 122 people and killed 96, giving it a 79% fatality rate. In 2003-2004, Ebola Zaire broke out in the Republic of the Congo and Russia while Ebola Sudan reemerged in southern Sudan. In the Congo and Russia, 179 were infected and 158 died; 88% of those infected crashed and bled out. In southern Sudan, 17 were infected and 7 died, giving it a 41% fatality rate.
